We are taking urgent action to tackle speeding on Galliard Road

Over the past year, there have been numerous collisions on Galliard Road, and in June, a child was tragically hit and injured.

Following many incidents, your Jubilee Councillors asked officers to commission a speed survey which revealed that, in just one week, almost 1000 vehicles were recorded travelling between 40-65mph and even more shocking that 21 vehicles reached speeds of between 65 to 100mph.

We are continuing to press for stronger measures, including additional traffic-calming features, improved signage to alert drivers, and enhanced enforcement in partnership with local authorities.

And we are also pleased that our critical call for Galliard Road to be designated as a 20mph road has been included in Enfield’s new borough-wide 20mph consultation.

We strongly encourage all residents who are concerned about speed on Galliard to take part in the consultation and show their support to help make this a reality ⤵️
