Galliard Speeding Update

We know many of you are deeply concerned about speeding on Galliard Road. That’s why this week we met with council officers, together with Cllr Sabri Ozaydin, Cabinet Member for Environment and Placemaking, to press the case for action.

At the meeting we discussed the full length of Galliard Road and the urgent need for effective traffic-calming measures to make the road safer for everyone—drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists alike—and to reduce the risk of a serious accident.

Council officers will now develop a set of detailed proposals for interventions along the road, ranging from potential speed-reduction schemes to improved pedestrian safety measures. Once these options are drawn up, we will share them with the community.

Keeping our roads safe is a top priority, and we’ll continue to push for the changes needed to protect local residents.
